AVmedia was honored to once again partner with West End House Boys & Grils Club of America for their annual fund raiser. We are proud to provide our resources and expertise to an organization that touches so many lives, and delighted that we could help make this event a success.
"Thank you for everything! It was a wonderful evening and we could not have done it without you and your team. You guys are absolutely amazing."
Loraine Spreen - Director of Development West End House Boys & Girls Club
This year's Annual Celebration was an inspirational celebration of our young people, and we have many of you to thank for your generous support. A special thank you to Presenting Sponsors New Balance Foundation, Lewis Family Foundation and Genzyme. A full list of event sponsors can be found here, and pictures from the evening are available here. The program featured two outstanding performances by West End House Youth. Our teen vocalists welcomed guests with Michael Jackson's "Man in the Mirror," and our Fly Girl dance troupe closed with an energetic performance to Beyonce's "Let's Move." The performances were selected in memory of West End House alumna and staff member Dawnn Jaffier, who became an innocent victim of gun violence last summer. The evening also included a video tribute that honored Dawnn's legacy. John Berman, anchor of CNN Early Start, served as the evening's emcee and shared his family ties to the West End House. The evening's youth speaker, Kristiana, shared her story of attending the West End House for the past decade and the support and strength she gained from staff at the West End House. Together, Kristiana and John asked guests to raise their bid cards to support college persistence efforts - all money raised on Saturday night will be matched by President Obama's Social Innovation Fund through The Boston Foundation. More than $115,000 was raised on Saturday evening alone, pushing the event total to an all-time record of $450,000. Thank you for contributing to our success, and we hope to see all of you at next year's event.
